The Underground Railroad

The underground railroad was secrete passages underground that helped slaves escape bondage. The tunnels had safe houses that helped all of them escape. One of the most famous figure of the underground railroad is Harriet Tubman. The underground railroad violated state laws and the constitution. The abolitionists also helped with the freeing of the slaves.

Uncle Tom's Cabin

The book, Uncle Tom's Cabin, written by Harriet Beecher was said that it started the civil war. It was so popular president Abraham Lincoln came to talk to the author of the book. The book was anti-slavery.
