Message from Mr. A,

Our doors are locked each day at 2:45 PM and they are not unlocked/opened until dismissal begins. During this time, there are transitions occurring, teachers are wrapping up instruction, and classes are preparing for the dismissal process. When a student is checked out prior to 2:45 PM it will count as an early pick-up. If your child has an appointment, please be sure to pick them up before 2:45 PM. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

As we continue to grow with the times, we are moving towards a "paperless" Thursday Exchange. You can view each week's newsletter online or on your phone using the following link and click on the Newsletter tab. We will also send this link in our teacher's weekly email. This will go into effect beginning in October.

Life School Communication

Life School uses multiple forms of communication to keep parents in the know of special events, important dates and school closures. We would like to encourage you to download the Remind 101 and SchoolWay apps. The front office sends out the Thursday Exchange Newsletter every Thursday and teachers send out weekly newsletters.

Nurse's Station

Thank you for all your donations for the Hurricane Harvey victims. It was very heartwarming to see everyone bring in their donations with such joy and huge smiles. We are very blessed to have such amazing parents and students here at Mountain Creek.

Counselor's Corner

National Hispanic Heritage Month, began Sept. 15 and celebrates U.S. Latinos, their culture and their history. Started in 1968 by Congress as Hispanic Heritage Week. The week was expanded to a month in 1988. The celebration begins in the middle rather than the start of September because it coincides with national independence days in several Latin American countries: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica celebrate theirs on Sept. 15, followed by Mexico on Sept. 16, Chile on Sept. 18 and Belize on Sept 21.

Please contact me, Mrs. McKenzie, your school counselor by Wednesday, October 4th to sign up to volunteer and/or donate materials as our Eagle Family works to bring the celebration to life for our students.
