Celebrations!
- 50’s day fun!!!! Thank you Sue for a superb sock hop!!!! Thank you everyone for dressing up! We need a staff dress contest!
- A big thank you to Sandy, Jennifer, and Heather for helping to judge the Limbo, Hula Hoop, and Jitterbug Contests at the Sock Hop.
- Thank you Heather, Jennifer, Delana, Sarah, Wendy, Corrie, Patti, Lauren, Alecia, Kelly, Al, Sue, Sandy, Cathy, and Tonya for dancing the night away at the sock hop!
- Excellent Earth Week celebrations! Thank you for encouraging our Texans to bring in pounds and pounds of recyclables!
- Great recycled art! Thank you Scott for collaborating with PTA on the recycled bottle cap flowers!
- Raising Cane’s Spirit Night made $180 for our activity account!
- Spring Creek BBQ Spirit Night made $800 for our activity fund!
- Corrie, Jeanette and Wendy’s classes won t-shirts, cups and gift cards for the most participation at the Spring Creek Spirit Night!
- Wonderful collaboration between the 5th grade team, Jennifer, Alecia, Kelly, and Cathy to create plans for our Texans!
- Thank you Patti for representing BES on the writing assessment committee!
- Great week of meeting with staff members for summatives! Looking forward to meeting with more of our terrific Texan staff members this week!
- Thank you special education team for an effective communicator team building during our staff meeting!

The Arts!
Summer Learning: As we near the last month of the 2016-2017 school year, summer learning options are becoming available. Below, please find two options related to the integration of arts.
- Arts integration online conference: http://artsintegrationconference.com/ This evolving professional learning opportunity is ALL online. This would be a great opportunity to get together with some of your Bransford friends and learn together. If you are interested in this online learning, let Jamie know.
- Arts and special education: http://education.kennedy-center.org/education/vsa/programs/special_education.cfm If you are interested in traveling to Austin on Sunday, August 6 and returning on Monday, August 7 to learn about arts integration, let Jamie know.

Nearpod for GCISD Teachers
At the request of many teachers, all GCISD K-12 teachers will soon have access to the District Edition of Nearpod.com, a presentation tool that works on any device. Teachers should receive a "welcome email" from Nearpod very soon. If they already have a free account it will simply be a welcome message. If they do not currently have an account the email will include their account credentials.
Some features included in the district edition include:
More storage space
3D objects
Virtual reality field trips
Student notes and other interactive features
Student paced mode/homework mode
Access to all content - over 4,000 lessons from third party publishers
Digital Citizenship Curriculum from Common Sense Media
Private shared library- ability to create lessons and share them with all teachers at the site/district
Complete integration with Google Classroom/Apps
