March Book Madness Voting Procedures
For voting, the books will be in pairs—like teams playing against each other in a tournament. A voting chart showing the day’s line-up will be emailed each morning. You can use this sheet to collect student votes if you wish.
Suggestions for collecting votes:
- Place the sheet in a central location and let the students cast their votes by tally marks directly on the sheet.
- Give students the choices orally. They vote by show of hand and you record the totals on the sheet.
Before the end of the day, go to the online survey link I will send via email and submit ONE vote on behalf of your class. Please do not turn in the paper copy of voting to me. Votes must be submitted online.
Example: Book 1 is up against Book 2. In your class, Book 1 got the most votes. So on the survey, you will enter ONE vote for Book 1 for your class.
You will follow this same procedure each day and I will send out an updated voting chart and voting link.
The bracket in the gym will be updated daily with voting results so students can see which books are moving on to the next day’s vote in the tournament.
The winning book will be announced on the morning announcements on Friday, March 8.Guided Math Conference
The CISD Math Department is very excited to be offering our first annual Guided Math Conference this summer. If you have attended our one day/two evening Guided Math Training previously or plan to attend the June 6th Guided Math training you are eligible for the Guided Math Conference. Attendees will be given the opportunity to choose sessions based on areas of Guided Math in which they want to learn and grow.
Please see our flyer below! Also, we are asking you to take a moment and complete a quick survey so we can better plan a conference tailored to the areas you wish to learn more about.
A Message from the Diagnostician
Teachers,
It is critical that you electronically sign receipt of eSped documents that are shared with you. The documents include important information (accommodations, BIPs, etc) from LPAC, 504 and ARD meetings. You are legally required to acknowledge receipt of this information. Documentation of your signature is kept in the student's folder and is an item that can be audited.
If the student is not successful in your classroom, the first question you will be asked if is whether you have implemented the required accommodations. Documentation that you have signed is the first step in the process of proving that you have. The expectation is that you will sign within 48 hours (school days). If you consistently fail to sign, that information will be shared with Mrs. Garrison.
I've included a power point with the instructions for signing. If you have any questions or difficulties signing, please check with me or Mrs. Nixon.
Thank you.
