The Blackhawk Flyer

Pea Ridge Primary School-August

Principal's Corner

We are so excited to welcome our Blackhawks back on campus! Our teachers have worked so hard to make their first week back a success. Our dismissal continues to get faster and more efficient. You will be getting a new car tag for your car riders today. Kindergarten parents, your tag will have your child's name and teacher's name. First and Second grade parents, your tag will have a number and your child's name and teacher. Please hang this tag from your rearview mirror each day. Your child should also have a plastic tag on their backpacks. Please leave these tags on their backpacks. This helps us ensure your child goes home the correct way. Please continue to be patient with us and our police officers that are helping us with traffic flow. We understand the traffic is frustrating, but please be understanding.

Please remember, no students may be walked to class anymore. We will make sure your student makes it to class.

We will close our t-shirt order for our black shirts on Friday, August 27th.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Nurse Draper

Welcome (back) to school Primary kids and families! I have LOVED getting to see so many familiar faces and meeting our new kinder kids! We definitely have some very special kids here in Pea Ridge. Just a few quick reminders, please remember to send water bottles with your child to school. August has proven to be a very hot and humid month. We want to help keep everyone hydrated! Also, to help our kids acclimate to the long school days, try to make sure they are getting to bed at a reasonable time. It's exhausting these first few weeks! Please continue to keep us updated on potential Covid exposure and/or positive cases within your family. We are tracking those closely. Lastly, if you have any questions/concerns about your child's health or whether they should be at school, please reach out to me! (479) 451-8183 We want to do our best to keep everyone healthy! God bless!

Please call the school and fill out this link to report a positive COVID case.

Library with Mrs. Hamilton

Hello, Blackhawk Readers! I have enjoyed having our students back in the library this week! We are enjoying books that celebrate back-to-school and learning all about library expectations and even new library jobs! The students are very excited to get started! I hope you are enjoying our "Every Day's a Holiday" posts on FB and the featured books! Maybe you have even found a new family favorite! I look forward to a wonderful year sharing good books with a GREAT community of learners! Keep reading, friends!

Counselor-Ms. Brodie

Hello Primary Families!

My name is Kelsey Brodie and I'm your child's School Counselor. :) I'm so excited for this new school year! I will be in the classrooms monthly for counselor lessons, leading friendship and other social-emotional learning groups, and providing individual counseling as well. We also have partnerships with Burrell Health, Ozark Guidance/Arisa Health, and Chenal Health who can provide school-based counseling. Each month I will be using this newsletter to provide updates on what we're learning, tips of the month, and activities to do at home!

I know the beginning of the year can be challenging, so if you have any questions or concerns, please email me or call anytime! I am looking forward to working with you to make sure your child has the best school year!
