Escherichia coli has a negative gram stain, and it is a rod shaped bacterium. E. coli produce special toxins which stimulate the lining of the intestines causing them to secrete excessive fluid, that produces diarrhea.
How does E. coli attack and spread?
E. coli is very common, and it's possible that you might have it. Research shows that many people have E. coli, but they just don't react to it like others. E. coli is mostly found in hospitals, and that's where it tends to spread. It is also easily spread by touching door knobs or drinking/ eating something that has been contaminated with feces.
What Happens?
In some causes E. coli is not a harm to the body, but in other cases it can be very harmful. Some strains of E. coli can cause kidney failure and lead to death. It is also possibly for E. coli to give someone bloody diarrhea.

E. coli is most likely to be found in the gut of humans and warm blooded animals. Also, it can be found on door knobs or something commonly touched.

Peopl that are very unsanitary are most likely to be attacked by E. coli, but some people won't react to it as others will.

There is no current treatment for E. coli, you just have to rest and drink water so you don't get dehydrated.
