Halloween - October 31

Please be reminded that we do not dress up for Halloween in the elementary schools. We had a wonderful Trunk or Treat Event last Friday which hopefully allowed our children to enjoy the festive spirit with their classmates. On Monday, October 31, we ask that students DO NOT come with costumes, masks, face paint or accessories. Thank you for your cooperation.

PIE SALE FUNDRAISER

Please keep an eye out for a flyer coming home in our red folders regarding the PTA UNES Carousel Cake and Pie Fundraiser. Our PTA receives a portion of the profits from each pie/cake sold.

Orders are due by Friday, 11/4 and no orders can be accepted after this deadline. Pies/cakes will be available for pick up in front of the school on Tuesday, 11/22 (time TBD).

Please be reminded that our PICTURE MAKEUP DAY is Friday, November 18!!

Gratitude Day is Coming!!! - NOVEMBER 23

Wednesday, November 23 is a half day before Thanksgiving at UNES. We are currently developing plans to organize our school community around the idea of being grateful for all we have in our lives.

Students will be learning about WHAT GRATITUDE IS AND HOW CAN WE SHOW IT. They will be conducting read alouds and having classroom experiences focused on GRATITUDE. Additionally, we're working on inviting local community helpers to receive letters of gratitude from our students and we've reached out to police, fire, ambulance, hospital, DPW and local government. If there are parents in our school community who work in the public sector serving our Nyack community, please have them get in touch so we can include them!!
