Christa McAuliffe Elementary School May 6, 2022
Greetings McAuliffe Families!
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, it is now a celebration around the world. Almost 100 countries- including most of Europe, Africa, and South America celebrate Mother's Day. Most countries follow the lead of the United States and celebrate it on the second Sunday of May. However, in Scotland, Mother's Day is celebrated in March, Mexico celebrates it May 10, Thailand celebrates Mother's Day in August!
So, no matter what day mothers are celebrated, it is clear that mothers impact many of our lives everyday. We also know that not all mothers are created by birth. Many mothers earn their role by choice. They are the mothers-of-our heart. Mothers can build confidence, support our dreams, and encourage us to take risks knowing that we are strong. Many mothers give of themselves in ways that are not always appreciated or seen.
Thank you to all the mothers in our lives who help us to be all we can be, and thank you to all who are mothers-of-the-heart for the love you share with others.
Sincerely,
Principal Kelly
