NEWS FROM THE BMS PRINCIPAL
Hello Bears of Bryan Middle School,
We are on the last week of the 2021-22 school year! It has been an exciting year together! As we go in to the final week, please ensure students are doing the following:
1. iPads and writing utensils only for the last week - Since academics are the focus of our last week, students will not bring backpacks. Starting on Tuesday, all backpacks will be collected.
2. Bring books back to school – All textbooks and library books should be returned before the end of the week!
3. Bring athletic uniforms back to school – If you have a BMS uniform, it needs to be returned before the last day of school.
4. Keep electronics and distractions at home - Cell phones may remain in a student’s pocket or purse, but they must be turned off. Other electronic items, including Air pods, should not be brought to school. Any other non-school related items brought to school will be labeled and kept in team room. Only small purses that are needed for personal items will be allowed to stay with students. Lunches will be left with 5/6 Block teachers.
5. Keep iPads all summer long – Staying in OPS? Keep those iPads all summer. Leaving OPS? Call the school so we can arrange a return of the iPad after finals.
6. No more clubs or athletics starting today– The final week of school is a true focus on academics (until the last day). So, there will be no after-school activities, homework hideout, library hours, athletics, and events. Late buses will not run after May 19, 2022.
7.The Boys and Girls Club's last day is May 24. Their summer programming starting June 8.
8. May 27 is a celebration day for students. We will be having a staff student volleyball and basketball game. We will have rotations of other fun activities. We have seen students work extremely hard this year and want to make sure they are recognized for their achievement. Everyday we have held consistent with academics first. Students do not need to bring iPads on the last day.
We look forward to seeing the hard work pay off during finals. Thank you for partnering with us this year and making every Bear’s experience a success.
