Universal Remote Learning Schedule
Happy Friday Panther Parents,
The above picture is the proposed schedule for Universal Remote Learning. We know that it is impossible for us to build a schedule that is ideal for each of you and your unique situation. This weighs heavily on us as we care very much about all of our students and want to do what is best for them.
With that said, the schedule below was developed based on results from the survey sent and also with live feedback from parents and teachers. We have opted to expand our instructional day beyond the minimum times required by FCS in order to give teachers additional time to meet with students in small groups. We believe this small group time is very important for meeting students individual needs. Throughout the day, students will have some time when they are engaged live with their entire class, time when they are meeting in a small group with their teacher, and time when they are completing independent work. The independent work will not necessarily be completed online and teachers will consider the amount of screen time students will have when planning lessons.
We will be meeting with our school Leadership Team next week to work out the details of the schedule and to determine how we can plan instruction that will best mimic the work we would do face to face, while also acknowledging and respecting the differences between face to face and remote learning. It is possible that this schedule will change a little after we receive feedback from our teachers. You will receive a more detailed schedule from your child's teacher before school begins. Thank you for your patience as we continue to plan and revise our work to best serve your children.

When will I find out my child's teacher?
Please note: our enrollment numbers are low, which means we could potentially have teachers surplussed to other schools. No teacher is final until after the district does their "seat count". This occurs after the first 10 days of school.
Seat count uses a Fulton County School class size formula to determine how many teachers we are allocated. For kindergarten, the max class size is 22 students, 1st-3rd is 23 students and 4th-5th is 30 students. If our enrollment is lower than the county thought it would be, we could lose teachers. If it is higher, we could gain teachers.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this, as I'm happy to explain more. -Amy
