Free Meals Available for 2021-2022 School Year
Don't forget: Harmony is offering free meals to all students for the 2021-22 school year. Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.
- WHO IS ELIGIBLE: All students, regardless of income or prior participation in the Free & Reduced Meal program.
- WHAT’S INCLUDED: Full meal (breakfast and lunch) plus one milk. If a student wishes to purchase milk only (ex. brought lunch from home but needs a drink), they may do so for $0.50. Students without funds on their meal account will be allowed one charge, then may not purchase additional milks until their meal account has a positive fund balance.
- HOUSEHOLD INCOME VERIFICATION: Because meal eligibility applications will not be collected this year, parents/guardians are asked to log in to their Skyward account and complete the Household Income Information Form. This information is used by the Texas Education Agency and other entities to determine the level of funding that will be made available at each school to support your child’s learning needs. (Note: The specific details of your family’s income levels will NOT be shared with the TEA.)
If you have any questions, please contact the Child Nutrition Assistant elva.reyes@harmonytx.org.
