JOB DESCRIPTION
- Gain exposure to the Marketing and Strategy team’s campaign creation process, from messaging and asset development to execution and measurement.
- Expand knowledge of social media landscape, including benchmarks, trends, and how other brands position themselves in the television landscape.
- Involvement in promo planning and placement of on-air promotional assets, including secondary events, to meet network ratings and demo goals and fulfill sponsorship commitments.

Virginia Historical Society PR & Media Relations Intern
On June 19, 2019, the Virginia Museum of History & Culture will open a new exhibition,
Determined: The 400 Year Struggle for Black Equality. This unprecedented exhibition
explores the African American experience from the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in
English North America in 1619 to the present day tracing the ways in which black people
have profoundly shaped the course of American history and the nature of American
democracy through their fight for freedom, equality, and justice. Visitors will encounter
dozens of personal stories, like those of Virginians James Lafayette, Mary S. Peake, Arthur
Ashe, and Missy Elliot, and nearly one hundred artifacts.
We are seeking a PR & Media Relations Intern (PR Intern) to assist with outreach efforts and
with scheduling and logistics for local and national media outlets leading up to the opening
and for the initial months it is on display.The intern will have responsibility for drafting press releases and media alerts forDetermined as well as other upcoming events and exhibitions. Passion for and knowledge of the exhibition topic is a plus.
