Hour of Code!

The “Hour of Code” is a worldwide event to expose students to Computer Programming (coding) through drag and drop programming and basic Javascript.

It is sponsored by Code.org which is a website created by Hadi Partovi who wanted to create a simple way to promote coding.

It is backed by Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Meg Whitman, Sheryl Sandberg, Arianna Huffington and more.

Herricks Middle School: HMS Computer Lab

It is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics!

This year, we are one of the 191,000 schools worldwide to host this unique event!

The programs this year involve characters from Minecraft, Star Wars and of course...Frozen!

If you have any children from the ages of 6-106... it is a great

way to introduce programming as well. Or, you yourself may be interested! There are a ton of activities that go beyond the "Hour."
