I Am Persuaded

Bethel Music Moment: You Are Faithful (Spontaneous Song) - Amy Miller

You Are Stable

2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things:nevertheless I am not ashamed:for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

I wanted to share a few things about those in Nepal, In light of a couple of very strong recent earthquakes and several aftershocks there are over 8000 dead, over 18000 injured, 10's of thousands who are displaced, hungry, thirsty, uncertain of what life holds for their future. 12-15 thousand mainly young girls are trafficked from Nepal each year and now the predators are on the prowl, during a time when men should be helping rescue, providing some type of hope, safety and security, Now women and children who have been displaced by the quakes are being targeted by the traffickers in order to supply the brothels across south Asia and India. As I read the news and hear about what is going on in Nepal I can't help but to think that somehow, some way God is in control here. Even though the ground beneath our feet may tremble and shake our faith in God is unmovable, always steady and sure. God, You alone are Stable.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What are you persuaded about? Not wishing about, Not wondering about, Not hoping for the best about-But persuaded about. Even when those natural foundations around us seem to crumble and fall, even when our security and certainty in life begins to shake, there are those things, like God's Word that can and should become the foundation that we build our life upon. I am persuaded that God's mercy, love and Grace will and is being extended to the precious people of Nepal.

If I could say a couple of things to the people in Nepal it would be:

1. Don't give in- Don't give in to the things that the enemy wants to use to destroy and defeat you. Don't shift the focus of your eyes to the dark, gloomy clouds of uncertainty and despair that has appeared over you but rather focus upon the Glory of God that shines over and above all.

2. Don't Give Up- Don't give up on life and hope. There is hope, all is not over. What has happened is a chapter in your life, a chapter in your story, a chapter in your history, but it is not the final chapter.

I am persuaded that God has a plan for you, I am persuaded that in the midst of this tragedy there will be an even greater outpouring of peace, hope, love.
