Warm Weather & Spring Break - Coming Soon!
If you step into my office, you will notice images of sunflowers on my wall and on my desk. I love sunflowers! This message above about sunflowers really struck a chord with me. I feel like we've all been working diligently and pushing really hard, and that can be exhausting.
Much like the sunflowers, when our days are not full of sunshine, we need to "turn towards each other and share our energy". If you sense someone is down or struggling, reach out to them and share your energy!
We are better and stronger together!
*** High School Band Concert ***
Both bands played some incredibly challenging pieces and displayed remarkable talent. It's exciting that Mr. Griffin and many of our band students will be venturing to Florida over spring break to perform at Disney. What a wonderful opportunity for our kids!
I am so grateful for Mr. Griffin, who dedicates so much of his time, talent, and energy to our kids. I can only imagine the amount of work that goes into providing individual lessons and also putting together large group performances.
I am so proud of our excellent band program at GHV! Well done, Mr. Griffin and band students. WELL DONE!
GHV BROKEN ARROW ARCHERY CLUB - STATE TOURNAMENT IN DES MOINES
As I mentioned in last week's newsletter, students who are involved in clubs and activities tend to perform better academically. At the state archery tournament in Des Moines, BAAC brought 65 archers to the state tournament. For the Bullseye tournament, there were 17 elementary students, 10 middle schoolers, and 24 of our high school students competing. In addition, there were 10 elementary, 10 middle school, and 10 high school kids participating in 3D shooting competition.
I am happy to share some excellent results. GHV Elementary took 2nd place in Bullseye and also 2nd place in 3D shooting. Our middle school students earned 13th place in both Bullseye and 3D. Finally, our high school were 12th in Bullseye and in 3D, they took 8th place. Wow! These are great results for our kids!
Check out the pictures below from Saturday's events.
We are so fortunate to have such an active archery club in our area. Congratulations to Mr. Englin and our awesome archery students for a job well done!
Way to go, BAAC!
