ROSWELL AT WOODSTOCK (Friday Nov. 5)

This Friday is our last regular game of the season and will be at Woodstock High School. Please come out and support the team! Go Hornets!

GAME ITINERARY FOR MARCHING BAND (Friday Nov. 5) Updated as of 11/3/21 @6:30pm

As you have probably heard by now, our Superintendent has cancelled school on Friday (Go Braves!). We are still going to the football game at Woodstock High School. Our schedule will be slightly different. See update below.

We WILL NOT be feeding the students prior to departure so students should eat before arriving at RHS.


  • 5:15 pm - arrive at RHS and begin changing into uniform
  • 5:45 pm - load buses and depart for Woodstock High School
  • 6:20 pm - arrive at Woodstock High School
  • 7:00 pm - enter stadium
  • 7:30 pm - kick off, GO HORNETS
  • 11:00 pm - approximate arrival back at RHS



VOLUNTEER OPENINGS

Our last football game of the regular season is this Friday! We still need volunteers for the chaperones, pit crew, photographers, and videographer. Click this link to sign up!

Veterans Day Concert - We need volunteers to help with providing baking items, set up, clean-up, photographers, and videographers. We also need band students who are not in Wind Ensemble to volunteer as greeters.

VETERANS DAY CONCERT (Thursday Nov. 11)

Our first annual Veterans Day Concert is next week! We will be celebrating and recognizing the local Veterans within our community.


The concert will be performed by the RHS Wind Ensemble and all band families are welcome.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE NEEDED FOR 2022 EXECUTIVE BOARD

We are now seeking two or three parent volunteers to serve on this year’s Nominating Committee to help place our new Executive Board for 2022. The Executive Board positions are a January - December commitment. If you would like to help and/or know of someone who would be a good nominee that may like to serve on next year’s Executive Board, please reach out to: president@roswellband.com. The committee will only operate until a slate for the Executive Board for 2022 is completed. (Estimated time that you would serve on the Nominating Committee is 1-2 months.) The Nominating Committee is traditionally made up of general association members (non-Executive Board) who provide a short list of active members interested in running for the Executive Board.


SPOTLIGHT ON VP OF FUNDRAISING

Daysha Gibson has been our VP of Fundraising this year and has done an incredible job of coordinating programs that fund the RHS Band!


Fundraising gives our band program the ability to reduce student fees and to offer financial assistance to those band families in need. Fundraising programs include ExtravaBANDza, M.A.R.C.H. Community Service Day, Football Visitor's Concessions, and Corporate Sponsorships.


These programs benefit the RHS Marching Band, Classroom Ensembles, Winter Guard, Jazz Band, and Percussion Activities.


If you have questions or interested in joining our 2022 Executive Board as our 2022 Vice President of Fundraising, please email us at president@roswellband.com. We'd love to hear from you! We will be happy to help you learn more about this VITAL position.


SPOTLIGHT ON CONCESSIONS MANAGER

Jennifer Ross has done an amazing job this year managing our visitor's concession stand. She stocks the stand, coordinates the food preparation, and works with other volunteers at the counter to get everyone fed. If you have seen the lines during the third quarter, you know that this is no small task! Profits from the visitor's concession stand go directly to fund the band.


Concessions Manager is a committee position that works closely with Fundraising. Time commitment for this position is the fall football season (home games only) and occasional band-related events such as ExtravaBANDza.


Next year, Jennifer is looking for an Assistant Manager to help her out and learn the position. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact Jennifer at Jross815@comcast.net.
