ROE News
Week of September 14
Let's Read!
ROE students are reading each and every day. We want to encourage all ROE families to read each and every night. Reading 20 minutes every night can have significant impact on your child's progress during the school year.
Sora is an online system for students to access books. Sora is available through Classlink. Virtual students will receive a link this week to a hear more about Sora from Mrs. Hartman and In Person students are receiving information about Sora on campus. In addition, Mrs. Hartman is working with students to begin checking out books from our school library. We are excited to begin checking out books.
Progress Reports will go out on September 16. If you have any questions regarding your child's grades please reach out to your child's teacher. We are here to support and have a great year of learning and growth.
Finally next week is Safety Week. ROE will practice all of our drills during the week. Please be patient if you arrive on campus during one of our drills.
We are so appreciative of the partnership with our ROE families.

Virtual or In-Person Instruction for the 2nd Six Weeks
We are quickly nearing the end of the first grading period (September 25) and will need to have any student request for a change of instruction method noted to adjust before the second grading period starts September 28.
If you wish to change your child’s instructional method, you must submit this form by Wednesday, September 16, 11:59 p.m.
To complete your selection, please login to Skyward Family Access and select “Fill out Online Form for” each of your children from the main page.
Virtual Student - Attendance Reminder
Did you know attendance is taken in every course, every day for your virtual or face-to-face student?
Whether your student is attending school in-person or virtually, state education code mandates students must be present 90% of the days a course is offered to be awarded credit for the course and/or to be promoted to the next grade.
Also, truancy guidelines are still effective even if your student is learning in a virtual environment. Please encourage your student to engage every day in every course.
Grades are taken throughout the course of the grading period. We highly recommend participating in live zoom lessons daily and completing each assignment given in order to receive all of the instruction for the class during this grading period. If you cannot participate live, lessons are recorded and assignments are posted for completion before midnight each day.

Note from Our Nurse
We understand that it is allergy season for some students. If your student has seasonal allergies, then please get a doctor’s note indicating this diagnosis. In addition, any reoccurring symptom your child may encounter regularly should be documented with our nurse such as stomach issues, headaches, etc. Having a diagnosis already in your student’s medical records will help as we monitor students on campus for COVID symptoms.
Lunch Visitors
No Treats for School at this time
Just a reminder, as part of our health and safety plan we are not having any birthday celebrations with treats such as cupcakes or cookies. This information is available in our Return2Learn plan.
