What's Happening in MI?
October
Can you believe it's already October??? Time is flying!
This week we are finishing up the first half of Unit 1. We have been talking about bacteria, antibiotics, and antibiotic resistance. We are just tying up loose ends this week and we will be reviewing on Thursday and their first test is Friday! Students got their review last Friday and should already be studying hard.
Our next unit is all about the aftermath of Sue's meningitis infection. She is residual hearing loss from the infection. We will talk about the ear, how hearing works, and how we test for hearing loss. The students will learn about audiograms, rhinne tests, speech and noise tests, and conductive vs sensorineural hearing loss. That will pretty much take us through October. Towards the end we will start learning about vaccines and how they are made.
Don't forget, parent-teacher conferences are 10/26 and 10/27. I'd love to meet you and talk about how awesome your kiddos are.
Finally, if you want a good laugh; here is the latest MI video production on antibiotic resistance and resistance sharing. :) Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LpEYcCRCi4
