What a Great Year!
Thank you for a wonderful year, and for your continued partnership and support of our school. It is because of supportive families like yours that help make our school such a wonderful place to learn and grow. As I reflect on the year, I am grateful for the numerous volunteers, our Hawthorne PTA, the Student Excellence Foundation, and the partnerships we've created with community organizations, especially World Relief, Wheaton College, and our friends at Highpoint Church, who continue to support our programs by offering their gifts, time, and talents to our students and school. Our school couldn't be "The Little School with the Big Heart" without all that contribute.
I'd also like to give a very special thank you to our Hawthorne staff. I am blown away each day by what our amazing teachers and support staff members accomplish with our students! The academic and social/emotional growth our students have shown is evidence that good teaching, supportive families, and perseverance are the keys to success. Thank you to our teaching and support staff, for caring for our students each day, and for dedicating their time to ensuring each and every child is achieving!
Finally, I'd like to wish you all a wonderful, safe, and fun summer. Enjoy family time together, make many memories, and spend time with one another. These are the times to savor, before the little ones are grown, and before you begin thinking about planning for that first car or college visit. Have an amazing summer, and I look forward to hearing all about it when we are back in August!

Free Summer Meals
School Supply Kits for Incoming 6th Graders at Franklin
Attention all 5th grade families - Carlson's School Supply Kits are now available to order for your 6th grader for the 2019-2020 school year! This is as an option for anyone who would like the convenience of prepaying for your (soon to be) 6th grader’s school supplies. One less thing to worry about when it's back-to-school time in August!
Just go to http://www.carlsonschoolkits.com/ and search for Franklin Middle School to order. The deadline to order is June 17th! Orders must be picked up at Carlson’s Store (111 E. Front St.) between July 25th and August 2nd.

Rent the Hawthorne Sign - Your Kids Will Love It!
Celebrate your child’s birthday in a big way! Wish him/her a Happy Birthday on the Hawthorne School sign. Rent it for their big day and let them see their name in big letters and lights! Cost is $20 for your first child and $10 for subsequent children. Another great way to support the PTA! You can find the form on the PTA website, in the main office or by clicking here.

Dates to remember...
June 11: Last day of student attendance
June 14: Last day the Hawthorne Office will be open
August 1: Walk In Registration for NEW STUDENTS at 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 2:00-6:00 p.m. Our Hawthorne Office will open for any new students and their families who need to register and bring in paperwork on this date. Registration information can be found here.
