Please have your student sign up through their Work-Based Learning course in Schoology. Students must sign up to receive the Zoom link.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SENIORS
P. A. 101-180 requires all Illinois public high school students to complete either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid (Alternative Application) as a prerequisite to receiving a high school diploma. Additionally, high schools are expected to provide students and their families with any support or guidance necessary to comply with the requirement. For students who choose not to file an application, a waiver may be completed by their parent. The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) makes available through their website a FAFSA Nonparticipation Form (English and Spanish) for this purpose. Check out this FAFSA Update (posted on the North CCR site) for more information.
OCTOBER IS NATIONAL MANUFACTURING MONTH
Did you know that Compass Academy is offering students the opportunity to take classes in the advanced manufacturing pathway, which will allow them to earn industry-recognized credentials and could lead to apprenticeships? The Northern Kane County Regional Vocational System has been working with our partners at the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce and companies from around the area to put together virtual resources to help celebrate National Manufacturing Day/Month. The St. Charles Chamber website has a number of videos from manufacturers and business partners from around the region to help show students about all of the opportunities that are available within our communities.
To cap off our month of virtual activities, the Chamber will host a live Panel Discussion on Tuesday, November 9th from 9:00 - 10:00 am for students to ask follow-up questions of the participating companies. More information will be coming soon on this event.
