Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Ms. Clark
September 26, 2019
Dear Parents,
The presence of Autumn gives us hope! As the season quickly changes, we are reminded that our students are in the process of growing and changing! Our classrooms provide the perfect example of this growth. Our students are encouraged, supported, and challenged each day to achieve all that they can!
As we move through this first trimester, remember that positive results in academic achievement come from both home and school. We appreciate how you support your children by helping them to develop proper organizational and study skills, handling time management and the proper use of resources. We always want to give them the added incentive to do their homework, to learn, and to excel, not only in education but also in other aspects of their lives.
As the season changes, let us ask Jesus to give us strength to look deeper and to discover meaning and blessing in our journey of love and discipleship! May God bless us on our journey of life, and strengthen our faith each day so we may be open to see the many ways that He is present in our lives.
God’s blessings,
Ms. Clark
Saint Bede's Forty Hours Devotion
Saint Bede the Venerable Church will hold its annual Forty-Hours Devotion beginning Sunday, September 29th. On October 1st, we will have the solemn closing of Forty Hours with a Procession. All students are strongly encouraged to attend the procession. All students are to be in uniform and meet in Room 205.
Good luck to our 8th grade Neumann Candidates!
I happy to announce that nine students from the Class of 2020 have qualified to take Neumann Scholarship Test this weekend. These children rank among the best and the brightest in our school’s county! The Neumann Scholars Program has been developed and sponsored by the Connelly Foundation to honor Saint John Neumann, fourth bishop of Philadelphia and founder of our parochial school system. It is specifically designed for the highest academically achieving eighth grade students who have a strong desire to attend one of the seventeen Archdiocesan High Schools. These students are being afforded the opportunity by the Connelly Foundation to compete for tuition scholarships to the Archdiocesan High School of their choice. Please join me in congratulating these students, their parents, and their teachers. Thank you to the Connelly Foundation for providing this opportunity to our students! We are very proud of this outstanding achievement!
High School Night- Save the Date
Student Safety First
Please enter the morning drop-off car line with caution. The morning drop off is an express line; parents may not stop and get out of their cars. Students must exit from the PASSENGER SIDE only. Students MUST be ready to exit the car once pulling into the car line drop-off in order to eliminate back-up traffic. DO NOT DRIVE OUT OF THE CAR LINE. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE LINE TO MOVE SLOWLY TO EXIT.
If you need to bring your child into the school building, you MUST park your car in the front of the school and enter through the main school entrance. You must report to the office. No cars are permitted to park or idle in front of the school in the fire lane.
Attendance
Late Arrivals
Please make every effort to get your child to school on time. This teaches our students respect and courtesy along with an understanding of the importance of being on time. When a child is late, it disrupts the morning routines of the classroom and often the child becomes overwhelmed.

SKD Annual Golf Outing
The day for the 7th Annual SKD Golf Outing is quickly approaching. The event will take place on Saturday, October 12th at the Northampton Valley Country Club.
Registration for the event is now open; please send all Golfer Registration Forms to the school or email Steve Patterson (spatterson3@comcast.net) to register to golf or to attend the dinner.
You do not need a foursome to sign up! Golfing spots are going quickly so don't delay!
In addition, we are still looking for sponsors - please consider sponsoring or asking an employer to help out with sponsoring; there are all different levels of sponsorship to support this event and it is great way to promote a business or group within our community! Sponsorship information or general questions can be addressed to Matt Wetherhold (mattwetherhold@gmail.com).
We are looking forward to another great day of golf, food, and lots of fun!
