Riverview Elementary

At Riverview Elementary all stakeholders are dedicated to empowering each student to achieve his or her full potential.

Greetings from the Principal

Dear Riverview families,

It is an incredible honor for our district and building to host the Kansas Teacher of the Year (KTOY) Finalists today as they travel to each Finalist's district throughout the year. We are in the position to host them because our 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Sahadeo, is one of the eight talented individuals who has been traveling around the state promoting all of the exciting work taking place throughout the state in education, and we finally have a chance to show off what a terrific place Riverview is!

The Kansas Teacher of the Year Award recognizes and creates representatives of excellent teaching in the elementary and secondary classrooms across the state. According to the Kansas Department of Education, its mission is to build and utilize a network of exemplary teachers who are leaders in the improvement of schools, student performance, and the teaching profession.

Ms. Sahadeo is a shining example of dedicated educators from the state, and she will be showing off the district and building today to other Finalists, including Justin Coffey, the Kansas Teacher of the Year. The KTOY Finalists' visit today is not only a way to promote education and have thoughtful conversations about the future of educating our youth, but it is also a time to celebrate all of our wonderful educators who have made a difference in students' lives.

Make it a great week!
