Family Resource Center Update
information on local resources for the current season
"Spring will come and so will happiness. Hold on. Life will get warmer." Anita Krizzan
Since the Fall of 2015, relationships have been developed and carefully fostered... and a day doesn't go by that I don't recognize with immense gratitude the crucial role they have had in bringing relief and hope to so many of our MPS families.
In this season of renewal and hope, there will continue to be challenges... Don't go it alone .. please consider giving the FRC a call and I'll jump in to help; and I promise if I don't know who to connect you with, I'll work hard until I find them.
Peace,
Meg Quirke

This weekly donation is made by South Shore Community Action Council's Greater Plymouth Food Distribution Center. Since the start of this school year alone, SSCAC has donated 5,279 POUNDS of food.
We would like to THANK SSCAC and recognize the amazing work of their Team in Plymouth!
Not only do they count and pack all of the snacks that we pick up each week, they donate too! Recently, one volunteer donated 60 pounds of food to the SSCAC for the Middleborough FRC snack program in her Grandson's name! It was his birthday and he paid it forward to help us provide snacks to our students! What a special week of snack bag packing for the FRC!
Along with Snacks and Summer Weekend Food- SSCAC is also the FRC's "GO TO" for anyone who is struggling to pay their Heating Bill. The FRC refers residents to SSCAC in order to apply for "LIHEAP" or "fuel assistance."
On top of that- South Shore Family Network is a part of SSCAC- this program recently offered a parent workshop on Understanding and Managing Child Behavior.
So, as you can see, SSCAC reaches the families of Middleborough in many ways to provide relief and offer hope.
Thank you South Shore Community Action Council!!!
"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom" Marcel Proust
McLean has made it possible for the town of Middleborough to be a town serviced by Interface- a Mental Health Referral Service of William James College Freedman Center for Children and Families. This service is the most efficient route to making the first appointment with a Mental Health Provider!!! And like most things in life, it isn't free. We are so grateful that when a resident in town is in need of help, we can connect them with a quality resource that will be there for them until they are 100% connected and satisfied.
Along with that amazing resource, McLean helps us to implement and offer many other programs and services to our community!
Over the past five years we have offered multiple Executive Function Workshops to Families as well as multi-day Professional Development Trainings for Staff; the Screenagers Film has been presented both in person and via a virtual platform, Parent Workshops focusing on Behavioral Health of our earliest learners, Grandparent/Kinship Caregiver Support Groups and have developed a Social Emotional Library in the FRC.
Most recently, the FRC was granted funds to support our efforts for a NEADS Assistance Dog for the Classroom. We recently welcomed Prince to HBB just in time for a Full Return to In Person Learning.
Thank you McLean Hospital!!!
"Love cannot remain by itself—it has no meaning. Love has to be put into action and that action is service." Mother Teresa
