Millstone Primary School
Millstone Primary School friends and families,
First, I sincerely hope everyone is enjoying a restful summer and finding time to cross adventures off of your bucket lists. I cannot wait to hear about all of the fun trips, pool days, and good books that were enjoyed these past seven weeks. The Baker family has been soaking up the sun on the beaches and ball fields, all while making sure we get lost in a book each day. The slower pace, the endless Vitamin D, and perfect weather make summer the perfect time to recharge our batteries.
Although I am not ready to punt the rest of summer away, the calendar is inching towards September...which means it is Back to School time!! During the 2021-2022 school year, the Primary School will continue to provide quality, personalized instruction in each classroom, along with a strong commitment to social and emotional learning. As always, empathy and kindness are the foundation for all learning and will continue to drive every relationship between our students and their teachers. Academically, you will hear much about Reading and Writing Workshop, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) instruction, digital tools to support instruction, and a keen awareness for social and emotional learning. We are also excited to add American Sign Language to our related arts offerings this year!
Communication between home and school is a necessary ingredient for a successful school year. While we continue to navigate ongoing pandemic guidelines, open, regular, and solution-oriented conversations between parents, students, teachers, and administration will be the expectation. We all have the same goal, to make this year as stress-free and “normal” to the children as possible, and teamwork will be the driving force. We look forward to sharing information with you in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, our parent-student handbook which provides important information about our school’s philosophy, procedures, and policies is accessible on our website (ps.millstone.k12.nj.us). I encourage you to follow us on Twitter @MillstonePS and @p_baker114 for information and exciting happenings in our school!
The Primary School community and I look forward to another great year.
See you soon!
(I hope Mrs. Baker doesn't find out that I posted this picture for the whole world to see!! LOL)
