Habit 1- Be Proactive -- Lesson on Tuesday 8/28
As discussed, each Early Release Day after lunch (12:30- 1:15 p.m) we will have a school-wide focus time on one of the "7 Habits"
In the Google Drive labeled "7 Habits Resources" I have uploaded a video of me reading a story aligned to Habit 1- Be Proactive. There are a few discussion questions on the second slide. This is meant to be a resource for you, however, not a requirement that you use it.
CLICK HERE for the direct link to this presentation.
If your team chooses to use an alternate lesson, or if you find some other great resources related to Habit 1, please upload them to the folder. Our goal for this school year is to build a nice collection of resources for each of the 7 Habits.

Technology Help Desk-- PLEASE USE!!!
With the school year just beginning, we want to take the time to remind you of the importance of filling out helpdesk tickets when in need of technical support. While we know stopping a technician in the hall when you see them or emailing and calling a technician may be easier at times, these are not the preferred methods of contact as they interrupt their current tasks and can get lost or forgotten about in the shuffle of the day.
A help desk ticket system provides many benefits to the department and district holistically. The ticket system allows technicians to track times on tickets, as well as prioritize issues and communicate efficiently. Being able to stay organized this way expedites the process of resolving a problem. The technicians are currently being pulled in a million different directions as they enter a building or open their emails, leading to longer ticket times and lower levels of productivity.
A ticket system also supports our district as a business, meaning that reports can be pulled from the system that summarizes the different issues taking place by individual users and buildings. In doing so, the technology department and business office will be able to more effectively make decisions such as whether or not we have enough IT staff, if newer equipment is needed, or if malware is circulating around the district. The more we know, the more we can make the appropriate changes and reduce problems.
In order to best prioritize district technology needs, we ask that all staff fill out tickets when contacting the technology department. Technology department members have been instructed to no longer respond to emails requesting help, but simply reply that a ticket must be filled out to address the issue.
As a reminder, the ticket system is located at support.sd44.org. Your username and password are the same as your Google login information (include @sd44.org on end of username). Additional directions for using the help desk ticket system can be found here. If you are having issues accessing help desk with your login information, please email Mark Kunberger, mkunberger@sd44.org.
In the end, our ultimate goal is to maximize the productivity and efficiency of the department. We appreciate your support.

My parents names are Donna and A.j. I have a sister named Nikkole and she has a five year old daughter named Londynn. I also have a fiance named Eric!
"I planned my wedding."
This is somewhat embarrassing, but I met my fiance through a scrabble app called "Words With Friends." We started chatting through the messenger and the rest is history! Even more embarrassing, he beat me every. single. game.
