Cool Web Tools We Used

This week we learned how to use two new web tools. They are Wordle and Blabberize. Wordle is neat way to create a word cloud with unique words with different emphasis on size and importance. We created wordles on best friends, ourselves, and our favorite sports team. Here is a picture of our completed projects while we were in the junior high lab. Another cool tool we used this week was Blabberize. It is an interesting way to upload pictures and make the image talk. What a fun way to get our point across. Who wouldn't love a talking dog giving up test taking tips or creating a book report on Betsy Ross where an image of her does the talking with your voice?

Math Lessons this Week

In math this week we are continuing to learn about fractions.  Now we are able to name, order and compare fractions.  It is really useful to use our fraction strips.  We even created some classroom fractions like 8/14 are girls or 3/14 of our class wears glasses.  We have displayed other fraction projects in our class hallway.  Be sure to come and see them.  Next week we will estimate with fractions and do more work with equivalent fractions.  We will have a quiz on fractions on Thursday, May 30th.  Our final test on fractions will be Monday, June 3rd.

Other fun things we completed this week IN PICTURES!

Don't forget about our field trip to Brookfield Zoo on May 31st!

Field Trip Reminders

Wear your gym uniform on the day of the trip.  Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.  It is a free day to explore the zoo with your chaperones.  Always be on your best behavior.  Bring money for food and souvenirs if you wish.  You can bring your own lunch if you prefer.  We will leave Sacred Heart around 9:30a.m. and return close to 2:15p.m.

End of the year approaching.....

Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, June 5th.  Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  It is hard to believe that we have only seven days of school left.  Thank you for all your support this year.  Our students in grade three are going to be excellent fourth graders.  Enjoy your summer and keep in touch.
