Homeopathic Treatment for Dengue

Homeopathic Treatment for Dengue

Dengue is considered an epidemic which until now is being experienced especially in developing and less developed countries in the world. The outbreak of dengue has greatly troubled a lot of people including professional and expert health practitioners. Once an individual is diagnosed with Dengue, it immediately calls out fear and rightly so. Even if it is not infectious, those who are with the patient start to worry of possible similar symptoms, of being bitten by the same dengue-carrier mosquito.

Symptoms of dengue include high fever with severe joint and muscle pains. The patient may also experience headache, pain behind the eyes incited by sudden motion or pressure and skin rash. This epidemic mostly happens in tropical countries. For higher level of dengue, the patient experiences bleeding tendencies. In a review of Dengue Hemorrhaging Fever, the bleeding may be under the skin (Petechiae, Echymosis, Purpura), from the nose (Epistaxis), gums, vomiting of blood (Hematemesis) or blood in stool. In such cases, the platelets (cells responsible for clotting of blood) in the blood significantly decrease in platelets leading to hemorrhages and also extravasation of fluids. In severe bleeding and extravasation of fluids, shock develops with lowered blood pressure, rapid or weak pulse with cold clammy skin. The patient may also have restless complaints.

For years, both allopathic and homeopathic treatments have been sought to cure dengue fever but until now, medicines used in hospitals have been proven to also cause other complications. A study conducted by The Peterson Group, one of the sources of information in alternative medicines, after an outbreak of dengue fever in Sumatra, Indonesia in 2014 has led countless of researchers in Jakarta to compare and differentiate between allopathy and homeopathy and weigh the effectiveness between the two. According to 64% of dengue survivors who responded in the study, homeopathy is proven more effective. Some of the suggested treatments are as follows:

1. Eupatorium Perfoliatum

Even though it is hard to pronounce, Eupatorium Perfoliatum is one of the most popular treatment to prevent Dengue from getting into a person’s immune system. Since it is used as a prophylaxis, this treatment is considered safest to use

2. Gelsemium

The early stages of dengue include weakness and joint pain. Gelsemium is best for patients who undergo this stage. It minimizes headache and frequent thirst experienced as symptoms in the first stage of Dengue

3. Belladona

Homeopathic medicine Belladona is the best choice when pain is marked in the sides of head (temples). For using Belladona, the pain is very violent and throbbing in nature. Tight binding of head provides relief.
