Information for High School Juniors
For Juniors and Families - Your high school counselors compiled this resource document of upcoming events and scholarship opportunities that can help in your post-high school planning. We will keep updating this list, and we encourage you to bookmark or star the document and check back regularly. Please note that unless specifically noted, these are not school-based or district-endorsed, we are simply passing on the information. Please contact your school counselor if you have questions or would like to discuss your future plans further.

Bike-A-Thon Gift Cards
If your student raised over $100 in pledges for this past Fall’s Bike-A-Thon, please reach out to ASB at oceank12asb@gmail.com and let us know the student’s name and your best estimate of the amount they raised. We will make sure that they receive their Elevated Ice Cream gift cards this upcoming week. This was our first time hosting this event and there was a record-keeping error, but we promise to learn from it! We are so sorry for the delay and we thank you for your patience.

K-5 Science Curriculum Planning
MB is writing a grant AND looking at school resources for creating a science lending library for our K-5 students. Her dream is for there to be hands-on science kits families can borrow from OCEAN. If you want to help be part of the brainstorm/dream you can start adding ideas to the attached document. The big grant is due in mid-March so deadline for input is March 3rd. Of course, this is all in the dream/brainstorm phase and is subject to receiving a grant and district approval. But, let's start the dream!
Requirements:
Common Core aligned
Secular curriculum (non-religious)
Re-usable. As in a kit can’t have a ton of parts and pieces that can only be used by one student. Multiple students should be able to use it and check it out throughout the year.
Family friendly! Does it look fun, engaging and do-able?
Might reference a website but is primarily hands-on.

Common Core standards condensed
