Message from the Principal
The time has come for change; I will be moving on. My time at Kent has not only been rewarding, exciting and full of happiness but it has also been a wonderful place for my own learning. A place that will forever be special to me. A place where I truly feel at “home”. As I move on to Beatrice Strong PS in Port Hope this Fall, your new Principal, Ms. DiRenzo is ready and willing to take the reins here at Kent. To all the parents/guardians who continue to support and engage in the Kent Community, thank you. Together we have always put kids first. To the incredible staff; the true captains of this ship, I admire, honour and value you. The Kent community is a lucky one; you have the best group of teachers, EAs, ECE’s, CYWs, Secretary and custodians any school could ask for. Your journey is ready for a new path. A new vision. A fresh set of eyes. Thank you for a memorable 4 years. Have a wonderful, giggle filled Summer.
All the best.
In Partnership,
Sascha (Alexandra) Elassal
Classroom Layouts and Placements
Although we recognize that parents know their children best at home, teachers and school staff get to know your children very well at school as students. This is why it is the school’s role to place students into the classrooms. Many considerations are made when placing students into classes. The teachers and staff here at Kent are all exceptional and your children will be in great hands regardless of which class they are placed in. You will receive a letter with your child’s June report card (coming home on Wednesday, June 27th) indicating their tentative classroom placement for September. Please note, these are tentative, as we traditionally continue to receive new enrollments right up to the first day of school and changes are sometimes needed to balance the classes or to create new classes. We will not be taking parental requests for classroom placements or movements. We appreciate your understanding and support during this time.

Get Smart about Social Media and Internet Safety!
Kent, Hillcrest and CDHS's School Councils came together and are proud to bring a very special event to our community.
We are welcoming Paul Davis , Social Networking Safety Expert, on June 18th.
Mr. Davis will be presenting to students in grades 4-12 (from CDHS, Kent and Hillcrest) during the day and hosting an evening event for parents, guardians and adults in the community.
Are you wanting to learn more about Social Media and what your kids are engaging in online?
Would you like to learn how to take charge of your kid's Social Media life without completely stifling them?
Hillcrest, Kent and CDHS have used their Parent Reaching Out Grants to bring this valuable and informative speaker to our community.
This event is FREE of charge and all are welcome. Donations will be accepted for the Campbellford & District Community Health Centre.
For more information, please contact the office at Kent.
Hope to see you there,
S. Elassal

FREEZIES!!
Dress Code
Students need to be dressed respectfully. This means:
1. No undergarments showing (no underwear, no bra straps)
2. No bellies, no breasts and no bums can be showing
3. No inappropriate slogans or pictures on clothing (swearing, alcohol or drug photos/slogans).
4. No pajama pants
Please note: This revised Dress Code has eliminated the "2 finger width" requirement for tank tops as well as the length of shorts/skirt requirement. If undergarments are covered and bums are not hanging out of shorts/skirts, they are permitted.
