Principal Perspective - Student Profiles

As we enter May, and despite the uncertainty this COVID Closure brings, we are planning for next year. One of the biggest tasks we have is placing students in classes for the next year. Each year we give parents an opportunity to tell us what their student needs to be successful. Normally, this is a goldenrod profile sheet that is turned into the office. With our current remote status, I have made this into a google form for parents to complete, giving us their input for next year. Please take a couple minutes to click on the button below and share your thoughts with us.
Student Profile Form

Please complete this form to give input on your child's classroom placement for next year.

Student Item Pickup

A bag of personal items and completed work has been prepared for each Ridgewood student. Please drive up the curb and we will deliver your bag.

Friday, May 15 - Parent pickup of Student Items

  • 9:00-11:00 - Families with last names A-L
  • 12:00-200 - Families with last names M-Z
Monday, May 18 - Evening Student Item pickup for all families - 6:00-8:00p.m.

Distance Learning for All!

Thank you for your continued partnership with our teachers to educate students while our school is closed. We recognize that this is difficult and challenging work, and appreciate your commitment to furthering your child's education during this global pandemic. Teachers are working to prioritize and personalize learning for each student, so that we can maximize the time and energy available for learning. That said, we ask that parents encourage and support their students in connecting with their teachers via Seesaw and Zoom. Below you will see a seminar for parents to learn more about Seesaw and how you can help you child connect.

It is important that children log into Seesaw each school-day morning to see what activities have been posted for the day. It is also vital that students develop routines and schedules at home to support this learning. If you need help in this area, please reach out to your child's teacher or our Counselor, Ms. Callie, and they will be happy to help you set up a home learning environment that works for your family.

Teachers are tracking student participation, and will be reporting that to you at the end of the year. We are doing this so that we know what learning targets each child will need upon our return to school. We understand that this work can be overwhelming to families, and are ready to support you as needed. Please prioritize the health and wellness of your family, and know that we stand ready to serve all students through the end of the school year.

If you click on the link above you can purchase all your school supplies for the fall for your child going into K through 5th grade next year, and support a small business at the same time! We changed companies from previous years and this company only serves about 6,000 schools nationwide. And you never have to enter a store! This will only be available until the 3rd week of June, so please order your supply kits now and pass this on to anyone else who has a Ridgewood student next year (including incoming K students). Oh, and this is NOT a fundraiser, simply a way for Ridgewood parents to get their school supply shopping done in 5 minutes or less :) Your supplies will be in your child's classroom in the fall when they arrive.

  • We are using 1st Day School Supplies for our school supply orders for the upcoming year. Below is a link to the store for you to purchase your supply kit. All kits will be delivered directly to the school before the start of school in the fall.
  • Supply kits must be ordered by JUNE 12th, 2020 to be included in the order.
  • The teachers have put in specific requests for items they want in the supply kits. We have addressed issues with the quality of the supplies as well.

For those who want to purchase supplies on their own, lists will be coming out. We will let you know when they are out.
In addition to resources provided to all BSD families, our Ridgewood Community has set up resources for our families, specifically our Little Free Library and new Little Free Pantry. Both are located at the front entry of our building, and have food, hygiene items, school supplies and books available for families. If you are able to contribute items to either pantry, please do so. You are welcome to take without giving and give without taking. If your family has a specific need to be met, please reach out to our staff as well, and we will help as we are able.

If at any time you are in need of emergency food, please call us at Ridgewood and leave a message. Messages will be checked daily. We will do our best to assist you.

Anyone can call 211 for assistance with housing, childcare, utility bills, or if you have health and safety questions or need any other resources. Help is available in several languages. You can also get help online at

The Oregon Food Bank is open. Check here for more information:

All families can set up free internet access for 2 months through Comcast. Go here for details: or call 1-855-846-8376.

Playground Closed

All Beaverton schools and buildings are closed and this includes our playgrounds, fields, and tracks. All outdoor gates have been locked in support of public health and to limit the spread of COVID-19. Due to limited staff we are unable to maintain safe fall zones at our play structures. Also, please note on Sunday, March 22, 2020, THPRD notified the community that their outdoor playgrounds and exercise equipment are closed to the public.

The paper box top collection program has been discontinued by General Mill, so we are no longer collecting box tops at school. However, you can still earn money for Ridgewood; if you see the label below, simply use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth the same amount and what’s great is the app will instantly add cash to the school’s earnings online. Find more info here.

Meals for Students

Please note that the Vista Hills/ Walker Road meal bus stop will be ended on May 1st due to lack of participation.
