We Are Hawks!

Irons Family,
It was great seeing our Hawks return from Spring Break. 3rd Nine-Weeks Report Cards are available in Parent Access.
As we begin the last quarter of the school year, please encourage your student to make good choices and finish strong. Remember, attendance matters! If your student misses more than 10% of the school year, we are required to file truancy, so please help us by ensuring your child shows up to school and attends class daily.
April 7th and 10th are student and staff holidays. Please enjoy the time with your family!
Instruction:
Students who do not meet the minimum standard on the STAAR assessment must receive 30 hours of small group intervention per subject in summer school or next school year in an intervention class. You can help by ensuring that your child is in attendance for school every day and supporting your child by encouraging them always to give their best effort. We will start our course-specific STAAR reviews as we approach our STAAR Assessment days.
All STAAR Assessments will be online this year. Please mark your calendars for the following dates:
- April 25th, 7th Reading STAAR
- April 26th, 8th Reading STAAR
- April 27th or 28th, Reading STAAR Make-up
- May 2nd, 8th Science STAAR
- May 3rd, 8th Social Studies STAAR
- May 4th or 5th, STAAR Make-up
- May 9th, 8th Math STAAR
- May 10th, 7th Math STAAR, and Algebra EOC
- May 11th or 12th, STAAR Make-up
Transportation:
The CISD Bus Smart tags have been a success. Most students use the tags when loading and unloading our buses daily. To increase the speed at which we can load and unload, please remind your child to have their smart tag out and ready anytime they are loading and unloading buses. By doing this, we believe our buses' on-time performance will improve.
If your child needs a new smart tag, we will print a new tag for two dollars.
For the safety of all students, we will only allow our car rider students to exit in front of the school. Parents, please do not ask your child to violate this expectation. It will take all of us working together to keep our students safe.
Summer School:
Summer School Accelerated Math Course for current 7th Grade students wishing to take Algebra I in 8th Grade:
- Registration: April 3-April 14
- Link will be on the CISD website
- Cost: $430.00
- Dates: 4/19-5/31 from 6-8pm and 6/11-6/29 from 8am-3pm
- Location: TWHS
- Please reach out to your counselor if you have any questions.
We do know that Summer school credit recovery courses will cost $140.00 per course and will run from June 6th to June 29th:
- Please keep a close eye on grades in Parent Access Center.
- Have your child at school daily
- Stay in communication with your child's teacher and counselor.
STAAR Camp:
STAAR camp will take place from June 6th to June 29th. Students that do not meet standard will be selected on space availability.
Yearbook:
We are in our final weeks of purchasing a yearbook!! Once the last 20 are sold, that is all. Get yours before we are sold out!!
Student Attendance Matters:
Average daily attendance affects our funding, campus rating, and mostly importantly your student's academic progress. Our goal is 97%, and our current campus average attendance is 94.7%. Please encourage and ensure your student attends school daily.
Red Carpet Awards:
Red Carpet Awards Night will take place on April 18th at 6:30 in the Irons cafeteria. Students receiving awards will receive an invitation.
8th Grade End of the Year Dance:
- Friday May 5th from 7-9. We will have a limit of 400 tickets for purchase. Semi-Formal dance. Dress must meet school dress code. Only Irons students may attend. Students with excessive tardies, discipline referrals, ISS, OSS, DAEP placements or failing grades cannot attend the dance. Tickets will be sold in all lunches May 1-5. We will not sell tickets at the door.
Final Exam Schedule:
Final Exams will start Friday, May 19th. You can find the full schedule below.
School Supplies:
Irons 23-24 School Supplies are on sale now through May 23rd.
Support Irons Jr. High by purchasing your school supplies through the school. A portion of the sales will support student programs on campus.
Supplies will be available for pickup during schedule pickup day on July 31st from 4-7pm.
A limited quantity of packs will be available for purchase at the Schedule Pickup.
Packs will be $70. Please bring correct change, cash only.

Conroe ISD Bond Information:
Conroe ISD requested the participation of students, parents, business owners, community members, and employees for a Bond Planning Committee (BPC) in anticipation of a bond on the November 7, 2023, ballot. The District is experiencing unprecedented growth and seeks the guidance of stakeholders. Over 360 submissions were received through the interest form. Of those, 160 were selected to represent a cross-section of our great District.
