2017 CENTRAL CHAMPS
Dear Staff,
Welcome back to school! The start of a new year gets us all thinking about setting goals, creating a vision, and feeling hopeful about the future. The whole idea of setting resolutions resonates with us because it is an opportunity to be better this year than we were last year.
As we return to school, we are going to continue to see signs of our building being under construction. Both figuratively and literally, we are going to be experiencing growth with our changing mindset and the increased number of classrooms.
As we work with our students this year, we will move from a fixed mindset of I am not good at this to a growth mindset of I am not good at this, yet. Additionally, our behavior expectations will help our students understand what it means to be Central CHAMPS.
Through all of this we are creating a positive winning attitude and culture in our building. It is very exciting to think about celebrating student academic and behavioral success.
Have a great week!
Julie

Curriculum and Instruction
2.1 I Can...........or We Can.............
More than posting the objective on the board. The learning target must live in the lesson. For a lesson to truly have a learning target, there needs to be more than a statement on the board. When asked what they are trying to learn, students need to be able to offer coherent answers that ultimately describe the purpose of the lesson.
As we begin second semester, we will be talking more about the article below and lesson planning at our faculty meeting.
