Begin with the End in Mind
A Joint PTO PEX Bulletin and HBMS Monday Memo
Special Edition
HBMS Students Welcome New Students!
Thank you PTO and Middle School Parents!
Amazing Student Leadership Panel!
Involvement Matters!
Dear Hampton Bays Middle School Families and Faculty,
This is a special edition PEX Bulletin, for the families of our newest middle school students, our incoming fifth graders!
It was wonderful seeing so many incoming fifth grade families in attendance at our PTO-sponsored meeting.
For our Families:
Following the brief overview of our middle school program, we hope, you are beginning to feel acclimated to the school community we look forward to sharing the next four years with one another.
Smore (this digital newsletter) is one of many tools we use regularly to communicate, to share, and to learn together. It's a space for us to share what makes for our middle school community a place for our students to strive to succeed and to pursue their personal best!
So...WELCOME...to Hampton Bays Middle School! Welcome to... "HBMS"!
For our Faculty:
Included in this edition, you will see several valuable links, that include videos worth watching. The first (included below in this message) is a clip about the importance of family involvement in school. We know, based on our close work with PTO, the power of strong school-home communication.
For our Families and our Faculty:
Thank you for making time for us during a busy time of year for our students, parents, and teachers. If you decide to join our PTO, that's a decision you won't regret. Our middle school community is eternally grateful for the time, effort, and energy that our PTO partners give. PTO makes our school a better place for our kids. PTO is a great "meeting place" for anyone who is interested in building on our communication, collaboration, and our learning...with one another.
Parent involvement matters! Here's why: http://viewpure.com/nOhZ6U5yaXA?start=0&end=0 .
So why the title, "Begin with the End in Mind"?
Well, as we all know, time flies! It's amazing to consider that we are a month away from our 8th graders (some of whom are featured in the video below) Moving Up to High School. And we are a summer away from welcoming in our newest class of middle school families into Middle School.
It seems like just yesterday we greeted our 8th graders as 5th graders.
If we begin by thinking about where we want our children/students to be in four years, and in eight years, the possibilities are endless!
So let's start thinking and let's start talking about what it means for us to "begin with the end in mind".
Thanks for committing to working together towards a thriving home-school partnership.
Sincerely,
Dennis Schug
