Dr. Misty Solt

Misty Solt, Ph.D., is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor as well as a National Certified Counselor. Dr. Solt is a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor and received her Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in 2003 where she was an Adjunct Professor in the Counseling Department. Dr. Solt has served as the SMU Center for Family Counseling Center from 2008-2011 and was an Adjunct Professor, teaching courses in the area of Practicum and Child Counseling. Dr. Solt opened her own practice in Frisco, Texas in May of 2003 and specializes in the areas of anxiety and attachment. Earlier work following her Master's degree in Mental Health from Eastern Illinois University was in the areas of school crisis counseling, general crisis counseling and assessment, in-home counseling, agency counseling, and private practice. Dr. Solt has numerous publications in academic journals, and she also has started her own company that produces children's books to help them through difficult situations like visiting the doctor or dentist, divorce, and other psychologically significant events.

Vanessa Sanford


Vanessa M. Sanford is a bilingual and bi-cultural therapist who has more than 17 years experience working with families in crisis. Mrs. Sanford was awarded the 2007 Texas Mental Health Professional of the Year for Child Advocacy Center's of Texas. Mrs. Sanford has been included in several educational films bringing awareness to child abuse, including "The Little Voice" made by Texas Young Lawyers Association. Vanessa graduated with her Master's of Science in Rehabilitations Counseling from the University of North Texas. Vanessa is licensed professional counselor/supervisor specializing in trauma survivors of abuse, children of addicts (COA’s),high conflict divorce, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, and includes their families through play therapy, individual, group, and family therapy in private practice, Support System, PLLC located in Frisco, TX. Vanessa is on the Steering Committee of the Texas Alliance for Drug Endangered Children. Vanessa previously worked at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center offering therapy to sexual abuse victims and their families. Mrs. Sanford also worked as a Children's Counselor at the Betty Ford Five Star Kids program working with kids who are affected by their parent's addiction to drugs and/or alcohol. Vanessa has experience working with Parkland Oncology Unit as well as the Dallas Independent School District Youth and Family Centers Special Education students and their families. Mrs. Sanford also worked as a Milieu Therapist at Children's Medical Center Inpatient Psychiatric Unit specializing in working with eating disorders, emotional disturbance, and autism. Mrs. Sanford also was involved in research studies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School involving high-risk adolescents.

Mrs. Sanford has spoken locally, statewide, and nationally on topics such as Drug Endangered Children, Keeping your Kids Safe, Expert Testimony for Therapists, Animal Assisted Therapy, Therapeutic Interventions for Traumatized Children, Children of Alcoholics/Addicts and Sexual abuse.

Evan Secord, Chiropractic Intern

Evan Secord attended Florida State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Following her graduation, she enrolled at Parker University in Dallas where she is working toward her Doctorate of Chiropractic. She is currently an intern in the Parker Chiropractic Clinic and is specializing in pediatric and pregnancy through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Coach Derek Rodriguez

Coach Rodriguez has been our PE coach for the last 6 years. While at Purefoy, he has implemented a Wellness team, Running Club, developed our fitness class, and made PE a true fun learning experience. He along with our students have earned the top honor for our state for Jump Rope for Heart. He is a true motivator!
