Happy New Year & Welcome Back

I hope everyone had a great holiday break and return ready for the remainder of another successful school year. We have much to accomplish over the next few months and our students need us more than ever. Thank you for all you do each and every day to positively impact our students.

We have adjusted our protocols to comply with the new executive order from the CDC regarding positive cases and close contact quarantines. We will also continue our option for high school students and give them and their parents/guardians the option of quarantining if they are a close contact at school or remaining at school as long as they are asymptomatic. We will also consider this change with middle and elementary students in the very near future. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact your principal or school nurse.

Our current contract will end June 30, 2022; we are determining with the Department of Education our next steps in this very important process. This will be embedded in the "reimagining" work with our Strategic Plan beginning second semester. Our goal is to determine how we will accomplish our goal of a 100% graduation rate and find new, innovative ways to reach the 9% of students who are still not graduating on time with their cohort.

We are entering the winter weather season over the next couple of months. We have protocols in place to gather information and make the best and most well-informed decisions possible. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make these decisions to keep our students and employees safe during any winter weather event. Our goal is to have this information out to our parents and employees in a timely manner so they will have the appropriate amount of time to make any decisions regarding child care or other issues with their respective families.

We have partnered with UCTV to highlight our schools each week. Our portion of the show airs each Wednesday from 11:30 am until 12:00 pm. Each school has a date chosen and will use the time to focus on school initiatives, upcoming events, or just brag on the amazing things happening within their respective building. The show replays several times throughout the week and can be shared on the school's social media page. Check them out each week...

COGNIA District Accreditation Final Report

I am attaching the final report and a 5-page summary of the report; please take some time over the break to read and review the results of this very important visit. Our plan is for each principal to detail this information with every employee during a faculty meeting on one of the January planning days.

We received an Index of Education Quality (IEQ) score of 317.74 as compared to an Index of Quality (IEQ) score of 272.36 on our last 5-year review. For comparison purposes, the average IEQ score in the COGNIA Improvement Network (CIN) falls within the following range: 278.34-283.33.

We are thrilled with the continued validation of the amazing work in our classrooms and across our District as we work together toward our mission-ENSURE ALL STUDENTS GRADUATE: READY FOR COLLEGE, READY FOR WORK, READY FOR LIFE! Thank you!
