Greetings
Team:
As I reflect back on last week, I am reminded of our norms regarding Failing Forward. We all aware that even our best plans can fail. I am proud of the work of the ASB, Grounds Crew and Molly/Courtney Duo in helping put together our first pep assembly/fundraiser. Thanks everyone for your patience and grace. We are counting the money this week and we will let you know the final results. Here are the big picture items for the week:
1. Grades are due this Wednesday by 2:00. Please check in with Laura regarding any issues that you might have.
2. Yes! Faculty meeting is this Wednesday starting at 3:30. We will focus on some SPED issues and then get right into our Action Teams. There will be ice cream.
3. It's going to be hot, hot, hot this week. Please be aware. We will do our best to keep the kiddos comfortable.
4. Start planning for the great email purge. You need to start cleaning out emails that are older than two years. We can show you how to save certain items. More to come.
5. The I Love CV Campaign (Eastlake Church) is coming this Saturday (10/28) to ELM from 8:00 to 12:00. We will be cleaning up the school. Feel free to join us!
6. Start communicating to your departments (core at this time) regarding pullout days and coordinate with me regarding coverage and location.
Let's try to stay cool this week. Thank you for the hard work that you put in everyday. Let's continue to make a difference.

Our Work
I recently read a book entitled Pivotal Moments. The book describes those important moments that many students experience that will either lead the to success or to doubt. I know as I walk this campus, I feel confident that our pivotal moments with our students revolve around equity and a growth mindset. Let's continue to make a difference in the lives of young people. And when things do get tough or discouraging, remember that this is a pivotal moment. What we do can have a profound impact on a young person's life! Be the difference maker! Check out the Ted Talk about our impact when we listen to kids and model what we expect. Eat your apples!
