Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet
Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet was known for his involvement with the deaf. He himself was deaf. He went around Europe learning about the deaf and ways that they where taught how to communicate. Later on in his life, him and Laurent Clerc moved to America to establish the first deaf school.
Dorothea Dix
Dorothea Dix was most known for her involvement in the prisons systems. She went in front of state legislature with an very powerful address. Many men took her side afterwords. The men convinced the legislature to pass the bill to expand the state hospital for the insane.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Was known to have a big part the women rights movement. She was overshadowed by her partner Susan B. Anthony, so many people don't remember her as well. She wrote many of the strategies and documents for the women rights movements.
Robert Owen
Known for his his help in the working class citizens. He had a big part in their health,education and overall well being. HE influenced other reformers who came after him and many of his beliefs are still in use today.
