What's Happening This Week

AMS ACT ASPIRE TESTING WAS A HUGE SUCCESS

Schoolwide Testing was a huge success!!! Thank you parents, students, teachers, and staff for working together to make it run smooth. We will have make up testing for those who were absent Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12.

Sign ups for AHS/AMS Fall 2016 Cross Country Track Going on NOW

Sign ups are available in the Front office for 2016 Cross Country in the front office with Mrs. Miller for students interested in running Cross Country in the Fall of 2016. Incoming freshmen (Current 8th Graders) sign the "high school" list and 7th graders to sign the "middle school" list.

Attention 8th Gr Students - BAND Informational Meeting - Tues, April 12

All Parents and students interested in Band, Majorette, and Color Guard in the Athens High Band are invited to attend an informative meeting, Tuesday, April 12 at Athens High Band Room at 6:30PM.


At this meeting, you'll receive details about the Marching Band Program, majorette and Color Guard units, and schedule of future events. The Award winning Majorettes and Color Guard will also perform an exhibition for everyone attending.

Friday, April 8 - ACS Hosted The Special Olympics for Limestone County.

Congratulations to Mrs. Davis' Class. They had lots of fun and their practice paid off, as they brought home many ribbons.

ATTENTION AMS 8th Grade Students - AHS BAND, MAJORETTE, COLOR GUARD TRYOUTS

AHS Majorette Clinic and tryouts are the week of April 18-22nd from 3:30 till 5:30pm daily, in the Old Gym at Athens High School.


AHS Color Guard Clinic and Tryouts are the week of April 25-29 from 3:30 till 5:39pm daily, in the Old Gym at Athens High School.


Anyone interested in trying out for Guard or Majorette needs to see Mr. Nix or Mr. Adams to get a packet of information for parent to read and complete.

Basketball tryouts for all current 8th graders will be April 18-21 4:30-5:30 at the AHS Gym. All paperwork must be turned in prior to trying out.

AMS SPRING FOOTBALL INFO

Spring practice Dates: April 25, 27, May 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 17, 18

Practice Times will be from 3:40-5:40 (Wed Practice ends at 5:10)

Equipment will be issued for upcoming 8th Grader the Week of April 11 during school.

Equipment will be issued for upcoming 7th Graders on Monday, April 25 at 5pm.


***All paperwork must be completed and turned in before any student may participate in Spring Workouts, which includes up to date physical and insurance info.***

ACS Parents of Special Need Students Informational Meeting with Katherine Barr

What: Join us for an informational session on special needs estate planning with

well-renowned attorney, Katherine Barr

When: Friday, May 6th @ 12:00

Where: Athens City Schools Board room (central office)

Why: As a parent, knowing how to plan for the future of your special needs child,

early on, will ensure your child has access to the resources he or she needs as

an adult, providing you peace of mind.
