Different Types of Bullying
Physical bullying- Physical bullying includes hitting, kicking, tripping, pinching and pushing or damaging property.
Verbal bullying- Verbal bullying includes name calling, insults, teasing, intimidation, homophobic or racist remarks, or verbal abuse.
Social bullying: Social bullying includes being ignored, left out or having rumors spread about you.
Psychological bullying: Psychological bullying includes being stared, stalked or made to to feel intimidated.
Cyber bullying: Cyber bullying includes having nasty comments sent to you and social groups and online websites
The effects of bullying on an adolescents physical, social and mental
Secondly, the effects on a bully socially are isolation, low motivation or withdrawal from activities. These can occur because of not getting out and not contacting friends.
Lastly,the effects a bully mentally are low self esteem, not able to cope with everyday stresses, depression and anxiety. These can occur because of not realising their abilities and not being able to cope with normal stresses
Strategies for coping with being bullied
- SEAL
- Stay calm and positive
- Tell a teacher
- Go see a councilor
- Report the bullying to the school
- Talk to your parents
- Don't fight with the bully physically and verbally
- Do the high-five
