i call it a lost art cause very few people know that their are even people who can do what we can do.

Job Description

The things that gunsmiths do are trouble shooting old or new guns.Making custom built guns for high ranking individuals in the army if you are a gunsmith working with the government. There are also stores like Cabelas or Gander mountains or if your lucky you will get a job for a actual store like red jacket firearms.

Requirements


  • Needs to know how to troubleshoot
  • Basic tool know hows like files,belt sander,or rasps
  • Auto CAD III Programing
  • CNC machine know how
  • One-Two year Gunsmithing course or equivalent work experience
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Background investigation results must be favorable.


If you work for government


  • Familiarity with current weapons systems, M16, M4, M110, M24, M107, MK19, M240 Series, M60, 25MM, etc.
  • Complete a formal one- to two-year accredited in-house gun-smithing course, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • Familiarity with the regulations related to security, sensitivity, containment, and transport of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Background investigation results must be favorable.
