Meet The New Principal

I would like to thank everyone in the Adams family for such a warm welcome! I have enjoyed meeting and getting to know the students and staff during the past week, and I look forward to seeing more people at the Spring Fling next Friday, April 13th. Please feel free to call or email me if you have a question or concern. I am sometimes out of the building for meetings or trainings, so if I don’t respond the same day that is probably why. I will do my best to respond within 24 hours. Attached is a “Ms. Greig A to Z” introduction that tells just a few things about me. Again, thank you for welcoming me to this very special school family!

Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Adams Elementary the week of April 9-13. Students will be shopping during their normal library time. They will need to have cash or a check made out to Adams Elementary and there will be NO TAX on purchases. The online book fair is already open and you can shop anytime at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/adams46259! Online orders will be shipped to Adams and then distributed to students.


We are in need of volunteers to assist students with shopping. Please consider signing up for one or more spots to help students have a fun shopping experience! All volunteers will receive a 20% discount on purchases as a small token of our appreciation for your time. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Wilburn at jean.wilburn@ftcsc.k12.in.us

Nurse Notes

Dear 5th Grade Parents—The IN State Dept. of Health has released the new immunization requirements for the 2018/19 school year. The requirements follow this notice.

What this means for your students:

Current 5th grade students need to obtain shots for middle school. Tdap, MCV4, and two doses of Hep A (new requirement for next year) are the required shots prior to 6th grade.


This list of updates means that it is imperative to call your student’s doctor today to schedule an appointment before school starts the end of July. Please do not delay—appointments for well child visits will be necessary and many children in Indianapolis need to have shots. Students are expected to have the necessary shots when school begins.


Once your 5th grader has obtained the needed immunizations, please provide an updated copy of the immunization record to the school nurse at your elementary (if obtained this school year). The record will be forwarded to the middle school and no further action needed on your part at beginning of next year.

From Student Council

The week of April 16th thru April 20th the Student Council will sponsor our last fundraiser: Kids Helping Our Community Service Project. This year the Student Council has decided to help out an organization called The Good House. The Good House is a home in downtown Indianapolis that provides housing, meals, and support for patients and families who have to travel from out of town to the IU Cancer Center.


Beginning Monday, April 16th and continuing through Friday, April 20th, the Student Council is asking each grade level to donate certain items for The Good House Service Project. This is a great way for us to give back to our community! Please help us make a difference by contributing the items needed for your grade level.


Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Paper Towels and Hand Soap

2nd and 3rd Grade: Kleenex and Disinfectant Wipes

4th and 5th Grade: Toilet Paper and Dish Soap

All Pro Dad

Our next All Pro Dad meets on May 11th. We had to cancel the meeting on April 13th. Hope to see you May 11th.
