Weekly Update
HPE Families,
With one week of e-learning remaining, HPE teachers and staff have been planning ways to celebrate our year of learning together. Please encourage your child to join their class Zoom meetings next week as a way of connecting with their classmates, teachers, and friends. Next week we will share a special recognition with all HPE families. Be watching for this to come through a Skylert on Monday!
Detailed information regarding the return of iPads and school books/materials will also be sent via Skylert on Monday. As we begin the process of working towards a new normal, return of school items will be the first step. Unfortunately, because schools have been directed to remain closed through June 30, we will not be able to bring students and families into the building. Plans for students to gather personal items from school will scheduled for later in the summer. We appreciate your understanding as we work through these next stages.
As this unique school year comes to a close, we want to take this time to thank you for sharing your amazing kids with us. We enjoyed the chance to learn, share and grow together. We investigated, inquired, imagined, engaged in study trips, dreamed and took action to make a new playground a reality, met with experts who shared their knowledge, danced, sung, and laughed. We learned to appreciate the value of simply being together and challenged ourselves to consider learning through different formats and lenses. Thank you for partnering with us through it all as we supported our kids together. We wish our 4th grade friends and families the very best as intermediate school approaches. To our K-3rd grade students and families - we look forward to seeing you back in the halls of HPE soon. We are blessed to serve students and families at Harrison Parkway! Have a wonderful summer break.
Be safe. We miss you, Patriots!

Counselor's Corner
Dear HPE families,
The end of the school year is upon us. Even though we ended the year very non-traditionally, it is important that students feel closure. Celebrating the end of a school year is not only fun but it allows students to feel complete. Here is a list of closure activities that you could do with your child to help them wrap up the school year:
- Have you child or family take a last day of school picture.
- Let your child pick a favorite meal to celebrate the end of the year.
- Have your child write a letter or note to their teacher or other staff member that made an impact on them this year.
- Have your child write a letter to their future self that reflects on this non-traditional end to the year. Save the letter until they graduate.
- Create a summer bucket list- Brainstorm a list of activities or things that they want to complete over the summer.
It has truly been my pleasure to be your child's school counselor this year. HPE is a special place to be and I have loved getting to know your children and connecting with you! If you need anything over the summer, please don't hesitate to reach out. I hope you have an amazing summer and I look forward to reconnecting in the fall.
Sincerely,
Miss Bethany Magill
