🗳️ Ask us election questions from the comfort of your home Thursday!
Kuna families,
Our team is busy sharing information about the upcoming March 14 Bond Election at community meetings, parent and teacher meetings, community groups, etc.
We want to reach our parents and community who can't get away for presentations during the day or early evening so we are offering a virtual question and answer session at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. It will be offered via Zoom so you can participate from anywhere you have access. (You can even submit questions in advance!)
➡️ Sign up to participate in this virtual meeting here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KSDbondQAsignup
🗳️ Request your ballot today at: https://voteidaho.gov/absentee-voter-information/
🤝 Developer agrees to voluntary contribution to help with growth
At the direction of our Kuna School Board, we've asked developers to voluntarily contribute a per housing unit contribution to help offset the cost of growth on the district. (Idaho school districts cannot require impact fees of developers.)
Because our contribution is voluntary, we've seen mixed responses from those seeking approval from the City of Kuna to build new homes.
I'm happy to report that Skyline Homes and Development LLC agreed to provide a contribution and we were able to support a 98-unit Newberry Subdivision planned for 10 Mile and Lake Hazel roads.
The contributions aren't enough to build a school but they can help us mitigate other impacts of growth such as busing or furnishings to serve new students and that's money we don't have to ask taxpayers to contribute.
🙋 Would you like to help on teacher/parent communication group?
Last week, we asked for parent volunteers for a group focused on teacher/parent communication. Some parents had difficulty with the sign up link so we created a new one.
💝 Join the Kuna Kindness Challenge
Kuna's Mayor Joe Stear has challenged all of us to complete five acts of kindness next week Feb. 13-17. His office offers some suggestions of activities for various age groups of children and adults. (See below.) You can record your activities here. The week will wrap up on National Kindness Day Friday with a special event at City Hall from 4 to 6 p.m.
