OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL T3 W7
TE KURA O TO MATOU WAHINE O RUATA
HELLO, KIA ORA, KIA ORĀNA, MALO E LELEI, TALOFA, NAMASTE, KUMUSTA...
Nai mai, haere mai, welcome to Week 7 - welcome to the gorgeous season of Spring - although it does not feel like it today!!! It has certainly been lovely to have our children/tamariki outside at break times. The term is certainly moving quickly for us here. This week there is a big focus on SOCIAL JUSTICE as part of the CARITAS SOCIAL JUSTICE week. We have provided the link below for you to share with your family/whanau. We are proud that our children have naturally linked this to our Mercy values and know that we are the voice, hands, heart of Jesus in our community.
FUNDRAISING #2
Thank you again for your support with our first fundraising event the Fertiliser Drive.
We are now fully into the Pie Drive and we have had wonderful support so far - hopefully you have received an order form as these went home last week.
We have a long list of things we would like to do in the school - another swing in the playground, another basketball hoop, sports uniforms and jackets... the more we make the more we can do for our school.
JUNIOR HUB EVENING FOR ROOMS 1,2,3 on Wednesday 14th September from 5.30-6.30pm.
- We will begin with Karakia/welcome/ students sing a waiata
- You will then have 10-15 minutes to look around the around classroom with your child sharing their learning on walls and in books.
- Mrs Cheetham to discuss our junior programme - this is what it looks like, what we are doing for the rest of the term, how we plan.
- Miss Smith to speak about our HERO management system and how it works for staff, setting student goals and updating progress on these goals, how parents can access this, and how they can communicate with school.
- Mrs O'Connor to talk about Health Curriculum Statement. Every two years we are required to check in with our school community to share what we are doing. Approval has been sought and given by the Board of Trustees as required before we begin teaching these programmes. We will share what is planned.
- Question time
- Any parents who need help with setting up HERO we can assist you after the meeting.
The Middle and Senior Hub will host their evenings later in the term.
THIS WEEK
Monday - Mrs Pedley took the staff through a session on the new RE Curriculum which we will be gently journeying into next year.
Tuesday - Kelly Sports working with our Middle and Senior children supporting them with Wellbeing activities. We have Ruth Price working with our teachers to support us in strengthening our Reading strategies and understanding.
Wednesday - We have an Induction evening for our new board members so that they can grow in the knowledge and understanding of their Governance role.
Thursday - Auditions for the OLOL Has Talent evening that is coming up in two weeks time.
Breakfast club is thriving with children/tamariki enjoying this healthy breakfast of Weetbix and milk every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Abundant blessings to you all
