The Middle and High School Back to School Night is now scheduled for Thursday, September 23 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. We are currently planning for this to be an on-campus event but will continue to monitor the state and county guidance.
We Need Your Help: Student Mask Guidelines Must Be Followed
If you are looking for a mask for your child, these high-quality KN95 masks come recommended. Thank you to parent Michael Geluardi who shared this link to purchase KN95 disposable masks: https://bonafidemasks.com/ This site also offers child sizes to ensure a snug fit.
Here is another site that comes to us with high recommendations and quality assurance: https://www.vaniman.com/ppe-equipment/
For students whose masks do not meet these guidelines, we may provide them with a disposable mask at school until the family can obtain appropriate masks.

LOWER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL UPDATES
"Building Belonging" at Chartwell
All students in grades 1-8 will likely participate in a three- or four-day lesson entitled “Building Belonging” beginning as early as next week.* These lessons have several student learning outcomes:
Students will be able to explain the concepts of inclusion, integration, segregation, and exclusion.
Students will gain a better sense of their own identity, the parts of their identity that they value the most, and recognize commonalities and differences of identity that are valued within their class.
Students will recognize how they should conduct themselves (act) in order to be respectful and inclusive to others in their classes to create a sense of belonging for all.
This lesson is part of our on-going commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives here at Chartwell. Doing this type of work with students will allow us, and them, to have conversations to fulfill the DEI expectations outlined in the Chartwell Family Handbook. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact Mr. Swift at bswift@chartwell.org
* For our youngest lower school students, homeroom teachers will determine if the curriculum is appropriately understandable for their learning level.
