How To Cook

Shayla Pakzadian

Why I chose cooking

I chose cooking because it is a necessity of life. I knew I would need to learn how to cook eventually and this really motivated me to learn. Coming into the project, I really only knew how to make simple things like sandwiches, salad, rice, etc. However, after spending the last few months learning how to cook, I've been able to expand. I can now cook things from scratch like beef and broccoli, soup, fajitas, stroganoff, lettuce wraps, etc.

"Cooking is something that takes practice." - My Mom

"Cooking is like painting or writing a song. Just as there are only notes or colors, there are only so many flavors - it's how you combine them that set you apart." - Wolfgang Puck

"I think that this project has been a great learning experience for Shayla. She's been able to expand her cooking skills and has learned great family recipes. I believe she's coming out of this project with a great mind set towards cooking." - Mom
