Media Messages

A newsletter for LMES teachers, parents, and students

August 2013

Welcome back!

We're excited to kick-off a brand new school year! These online newsletters will be sent out monthly to inform you of learning resources, book suggestions, educational apps, the SC Book Award program, and special events. Let us know how we can help you throughout the coming year.
  • Sharon Matney, Library Media Specialist
  • Nancy Bootle, Media Assistant

Library Orientations

All K-5 classes will have a beginning of the year orientation where they learn what the library media center has to offer. Important information will be covered such as in what "neighborhoods" books are located, how to search the library catalog, and how to take care of books. After students have learned the basics, they are free to checkout their first books of the school year! If you or your students would like recommendations, please ask the media center staff. We are here to help!

Back to school reads!

Mrs. Matney will book talk the nominees to students in grades 1-5. Information on the reading goals and cut-off dates will be be given along with a bookmark for checking off the completed books.
