## If two different lines have the SAME SLOPE, then they are PARALLEL!

**Remember:**

In the equation y = mx + b, m is the slope and b is the y-intercept!

In the equation y = mx + b, m is the slope and b is the y-intercept!

## The lines above are parallel because the slopes are both 1/2!

## Write the equation of the line that is parallel to y = 2x + 1 and passes through the point (5, 4)
