More about black bears

Black bears are mammals.They are about 7 feet(2.1 meters) long.They weigh 300 pounds(136 kilograms).They use their strong legs to climb trees.

Habit:

Black bears live mostly in forests in North America. They hibernate lightly in dens during most of the winter.

Food:

Black bears eat
both plants and animals. They eat fruits and nuts. They also eat fish and
squirrels. Black bears eat a lot of food in the fall. They don’t eat during winter.

Life cycle:

Baby black bears are called cubs. They weigh less than 1 pound (.5 kilogram) at birth. Cubs are born in winter. Black bears live for about 20 years.
