HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS
Halloween can be a tempting time to send treats in to your child’s class. Parents/guardians are reminded that our staff prefers to conduct "healthy celebrations" that need not involve food, just fun. We are working to encourage healthy practices and to maintain a safe environment for all students.
Please refer to the "Birthdays and Other Celebrations" guidelines at https://www.mpsd.org/Domain/495
FROM THE NURSE
FROM THE LIBRARY
This week, all 4th and 5th graders at GWS were lucky enough to receive a visit from Ms. Kelsey Socha, Youth Services Librarian, of the Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield. Ms. Socha highlighted programming targeting 4th-6th graders. Students were excited to learn about Young Authors' Writing Workshop, TWEEN interest group, Read to a Therapy Dog, Lego Club, and more! Ventress is now fine-free and welcomes students to receive their own library card. The library is seeking collections to display as well as asking for ideas and suggestions from the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders specifically!

EARN MONEY FOR GWS AS YOU CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSETS!
Put your unwanted items to good use by dropping them in our textiles recycling bin, located in our parking lot near the trash dumpsters. Ninety-five percent of all textiles can be recycled.
The following can be donated as long as they are clean & dry: clothing, shoes, pocketbooks, table linens, bed linens, draperies, throw rugs, and stuffed animals. Please place your items in plastic bags so that they will stay dry.
GWS will earn $100 for every ton of textiles placed in our recycling bin.
